Blackhawks team scope

Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford is 7-0-2 with a 1.43 goals-against average and .953 save percentage in his past nine games. "We obviously reap the benefits when our goaltenders are playing well," forward Jonathan Toews said. "I think for a while to start the season our penalty kill was atrocious, and I think a big thing for us to get our confidence back and get back on the right track was our goaltenders playing the way they have." Forward Marian Hossa aims to extend his point scoring streak to five games. He has a goal in each of his past four games and six points during that span. "He's been awesome," forward Patrick Kane said. "[He's] pretty much playing the same way he's always played but it seems he's getting a few more bounces now. He seems a little more confident out there as well. I'm sure when you score your 500th goal, you're pretty confident about yourself. The season he's having so far has been huge for our team."

Jets team scope

Winnipeg Jets forward Alexander Burmistrov returns to the lineup after missing one game with a lower-body injury. Burmistrov will play for forward Kyle Connor, who was placed on injured reserve with an upper-body injury Monday. Connor was hit from behind in a 3-2 shootout win against the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday. The Jets are missing six forwards and one defenseman from their opening night roster. "I think we've established how we're trying to play the game and the guys coming in have bought into that," forward Blake Wheeler said. "You've got to give credit to those guys and how the [Manitoba] Moose are being run … we haven't missed a beat so far." The Jets are 4-2-0 in their past six games. Forward Mark Scheifele is tied with Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin for the NHL lead with 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists) and was named the NHL's Second Star of the Week with six points (three goals and three assists) in four games. Rookie forward Patrik Laine leads the League with 11 goals. "I don't have to keep an eye on that," Laine said. "The only thing I have to keep an eye on is where our team is going in the standings."
