NEW YORK -- Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slashing Columbus Blue Jackets forward Alexandre Texier during NHL Game No. 297 in Columbus on Wednesday, Nov. 24, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 16:27 of the third period. Morrissey was assessed a minor penalty for slashing.
The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
