Rick-Jeanneret 12-23

Rick Jeanneret, a Buffalo Sabres broadcaster for 47 years, was feeling better one day after having to leave in the third period of the Sabres' 3-0 victory against the Anaheim Ducks at KeyBank Center on Saturday.

"Sabres broadcaster Rick Jeanneret, who was hospitalized at Buffalo General Medical Center last night, is resting and doing well," the Sabres said in a statement. "On behalf of Rick and his family, we'd like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Rick looks forward to being back in the booth after the break."
Jeanneret's association with the Sabres is the longest by a broadcaster with one team in NHL history, according to The Associated Press. The 76-year-old started doing play-by-play on radio in 1971, Buffalo's second NHL season, and moved to television in 1995.
He was given the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award from the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012 and was inducted into the Sabres Hall of Fame in 2011.
Born in St. Catherines, Ontario, he began his career with the Niagara Falls Flyers of Junior A in 1963.
