Alex Ovechkin's trip to China continued in Beijing Wednesday with a tour around the Forbidden City, a ball hockey clinic, and a feast of Chinese delicacies.

The Washington Capitals forward started his day in the Forbidden City, which is a complex of 980 buildings, including palaces, terraces, and halls that date back to the early 1400s.

Next up was a 90-minute ball hockey clinic for 60 kids who gave Ovechkin a warm welcome.

The clinic took place at Bloomage Live, which was modeled after the LA Live shopping and entertainment compound in Los Angeles, and houses one of the rinks where ice hockey will be played in the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Ovechkin gave demonstrations of breakaways, technical skills and his slap shot, and concluded the clinic by signing almost 100 autographs.

In the evening, Ovechkin had dinner at upscale restaurant DaDong with former NHL player Alexei Kovalev, representatives from the NHL, and some local hockey players. The dishes they enjoyed included a goose liver pate (foie gras) that resembled cherries, Kung Pao prawns, roast pigeon, Peking duck, and a shot of the Chinese spirit called baijiu.
Ovechkin's trip to China as an international ambassador for the NHL concludes on Friday.
