As many of you know, on July 18 we announced Ron Francis as NHL Seattle's first-ever General Manager!

As you can imagine, we were pretty excited about this major milestone in our franchise's short history, and it turns out GMRF was pretty excited, too:

What was even more impressive was how excited the city of Seattle was for our new hockey leader. From the sports community to the mayor's office to our community partners, everyone wanted a chance to welcome #RonTheBuilder to the Emerald City.
Here's what they had to say:
First up, we have the reigning WNBA champs - and our soon to be neighbors in the New Arena at Seattle Center giving Ron a warm welcome:

Speaking of champs, Ron isn't the only one who's earned back-to-back championships. The 2018 & 2019 MLR Champion Seawolves showed support for the newest GM in Seattle:

The Seahawks got in on the action too. Anyone else ready for Blue Fridays this fall?

The Sounders showed off their #SeattleLove making our hearts turn a lovely shade of Rave Green in the process.

Not to be outdone, the Mariners made sure to show some love for our Hockey Hall of Famer ahead of Edgar Martinez's induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Even our expansion buddies over at XFL Seattle gave our new GM a shout out!

Moving on to our collegiate friends, UW made sure to shine with a beautiful #PurpleReign welcome graphic:

We aren't the only hockey team in town, and we received quite the neighborly welcome from our friends over at the Everett Silvertips…

…while our Seattle Thunderbirds friends made sure to note that #ItStartsNow with their support!

The ladies over at the Washington Wild Female Hockey Association welcomed Ron with a framed photo of the women's gold-medal winning USA hockey team. We're here for this. #GrowTheGame

Mayor Jenny Durkan is pretty stoked for our new GM to be here (and bring Lord Stanley back to Seattle!!!). Can you blame her? We're stoked, too.

KEXP hosted our milestone announcement at their facilities, and we were honored. Their hospitality was pretty wonderful and we're grateful for their support and enthusiasm!

Finally, we'd like to shout out our first Founding Partner, Symetra, for their support. We love that you guys love hockey as much as we do and are so glad you were able to be there for this announcement!
