Are we having fun yet??! Yessireeeee!!!!
If you are looking for a last-minute getaway this summer, there are so many gem communities to choose from, and I'm lucky to be getting a taste of a lot of them as I continue my summer adventures across Manitoba.

The Manitoba Stampede and Exhibition was back in action in Morris two weekends ago and I was there for one of the highlights of the four-day event - Saturday's parade! It was great to see so many kids and families out for the fun. The only thing missing was my cowboy hat…I just haven't been able to find one big enough for my head, or with holes for my antlers! If you happen to be at your local haberdashery, put in a good word for me as I'll surely need one for next year, yeehaw! Maybe if I have a hat I will be less likely to be hustled into the rodeo lineup by people thinking that I was part of the show! I narrowly escaped being hogtied in the team roping event - yowch!
Last week I walked in the parade at the much-anticipated annual Manitoba Sunflower Festival. The community of Altona was out in full force to see the parade, which was part of the three-day festival that has been a signature event in the community since 1964.
