WINNIPEG, Nov. 23, 2021 - Fans can again help the Winnipeg Jets make a difference in the lives of community members in need this holiday season with the team's annual Toy Drive presented by Wawanesa Insurance. The Toy Drive, running from Nov. 23 to Dec. 14 when the Jets will host their Toy Drive game against the Buffalo Sabres, is in support of the Christmas Cheer Board.

After collecting 2,600 toys and $8,225 in cash donations for their last Toy Drive campaign in 2019, this year's event will focus on monetary donations, which can be made online at
WinnipegJets.com/ToyDrive
. Jets fans can also simply scan to donate via a QR code displayed on the Winnipeg Jets website and social media platforms, and at Canada Life Centre during the Nov. 29 and Dec. 3, 5, 7, and 14 home games. The QR code will also be displayed at all five Jets Gear locations (St. Vital, Polo Park, Kildonan Place, Canada Life Centre, and Bell MTS Iceplex) and at select Wawanesa broker locations. Each donation will make a significant impact for Winnipeggers in need, as just $10 provides books and mittens for two children, $20 funds a toy, books and mittens for a child, and $50 affords four children toys, books and mittens.
As presenting sponsor, Wawanesa has generously donated $10,000 to the Christmas Cheer Board to help kick off the Toy Drive and support families in need this holiday season. This, along with all other donations made by Dec. 5, will be used by Mick E. Moose on a shopping spree to pick up toys to add to the Toy Drive. Stay tuned for a video of Mick E.'s shopping trip on the Jets' website and social media pages.
Exciting prizes will be up for grabs for those who give monetary donations to the cause. Any online Toy Drive donation of $10 or more made by Dec. 10 will be entered into a draw for one of 10 prizes, each consisting of two tickets to the Dec. 14 Toy Drive game and a signed Winnipeg Jets jersey.
All proceeds of the Winnipeg Jets Toy Drive will be donated to the Christmas Cheer Board in time for the holiday season. The Christmas Cheer Board provides hampers and toys to families receiving employment income assistance as well as many low-income families and pensioners, and distributes over 16,000 hampers to Winnipeggers in need each holiday season.
