Jason Blake scores first-career hat trick and the third Islanders hat trick in five games

Jan. 11, 2003 - Jason Blake records his first career hat trick, tallying three goals against the Atlanta Thrashers and marking the third Islanders hat trick in five games.
The Islanders won the game 7-3 over Atlanta. Along with his three goals, including the game-winner, Blake also dished out an assist to complete a four-point outing. Blake joined Dave Scatchard, who had his first three-goal game January 7th, and Mark Parrish, who accomplished the feat January 3rd. The three hat tricks in five games were the third-fastest in Islanders history and the second fastest three hat tricks tallied at Nassau Coliseum.
