LEHNER UPDATE:

Robin Lehner is officially day-to-day with an upper-body injury, per Head Coach Barry Trotz. Lehner left Tuesday's game after a collision with Brady Tkachuk and did not accompany the team to Ottawa. Christopher Gibson was emergency recalled on Wednesday and will back up Greiss.
The injury comes at a poor time for Lehner, who is in the midst of a marvelous year. Lehner is tied for second in the NHL with a 2.19 GAA and is fifth with a .927 SV%.
Luckily for the Islanders, there's been no drop-off between Lehner and Greiss, as Greiss is tied for third with a .928SV% and fourth with a 2.23 GAA.
"The depth that we have back there, with Greisser and Robin, they've had special seasons and they're going to continue to do that," captain Anders Lee said. "Hopefully Robin gets back here as soon as possible and until then we're all just fine with Greisser."
Greiss came into a tough spot on Tuesday night, going in cold with the teams tied 4-4 with 4:40 to play, but held the fort. He made a big save on Sens leading scorer Thomas Chabot in overtime, as well as a highlight reel skate save in the shootout. Trotz appreciated his goalie's levelheadedness.
"He goes 'okay, no big deal' and that's the great thing about Greisser," Trotz said. "He doesn't fret about the situation, he says, this is the reality and I'll deal with it. That's a great attitude to have, especially in that situation."

REMATCH VS OTTAWA:

A little less preparation, a little more familiarity and perhaps a little more animosity. That about sums up the feelings on the second night of the home-and-home set between the Islanders and Senators.
"You kind of know each other pretty quickly after one game," Lee said. "Obviously they know what worked and what didn't. It's a little bit of a small series… the animosity can always grow a little too when you see teams, not only all the time, but back to back.

NILSSON STARTING FOR SENS:

Former Islander Anders Nilsson is starting for the Senators on Thursday night.
Nilsson played 23 games for the Islanders over two seasons (2011-12, 13-14) and has since gone on to play for Edmonton, St. Louis, Buffalo, Vancouver and now Ottawa. The big Swede (6'6, 232 lbs.) is 8-8-0 since joining the Senators with a 3.08 GAA, .910 SV% with one shutout.
Nilsson is 0-3-0 with a 5.94 GAA and a .833 SV% in three career games vs the Islanders.
