We are looking forward to dropping the puck for Sunday's home opener. Based on feedback we received from you, we're excited to share the changes we are implementing to improve the overall fan experience, including travel and speed of service.

For those who take the Long Island Rail Road, getting to Barclays Center and returning home will be easier, thanks to increased service for every game, starting with Monday's preseason game, that will provide the same number of trains as during the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs at Barclays Center, including direct service on the Babylon, Farmingdale, and Ronkonkoma branches. The Travel Ambassadors will be back this season, beginning opening night, and will be stationed on the plaza outside the Barclays Center subway station.
We are also working to make driving to Barclays Center a smoother experience. By our home opener, we will have increased the number of available lots by the venue (visit Barclayscenter.com for more details) and, with the NYC Department of Transportation's help, added additional signage around the area to help drivers find lots quickly and efficiently. At the arena, we will also have more prominent pick-up/drop-off signage, as well as staff onsite to regulate traffic and assist with any questions you may have.
Under the direction of our Chief Experience Officer we will continue to make improving the hockey experience a priority, including stricter enforcement of puck-in-play rules during all games. In fact, next week the renowned Disney Institute will once again be training our staff, with a focus on speed of service.
Starting on Monday and carrying throughout the season, season ticket members can wear a credential they've been provided to make it easier for staff to recognize our most loyal fans, and to make getting in and out of the arena bowl a faster process.
Additionally, beginning with opening night, we will offer discounts to full season ticket members on our top-selling beer and fan favorite food and beverages, chosen based on your feedback.
We've also instituted the Islanders Legacy Program, with escalating benefits that grow with your time as a season ticket member. With exclusive events, meet-the-team opportunities, unique fan experiences, and gifts, we will proudly reward the loyalty of our season ticket members.
Fan favorite Sparky the Dragon will appear more often this season, and is part of an expanded promotional schedule that will feature more giveaway nights for fans to take home Islanders memorabilia. Please see the full listing of the promotional nights. Beginning on opening night, we'll have stronger Islanders branding throughout Barclays Center to fortify the team's presence in the building, including the team store which has been renamed the Swag Shop at Barclays Center, and which will feature the Islanders year-round.
There will also be enhancements on the digital and mobile front. The Barclays Center app will re-launch in October with new interactive features including dynamic way-finding using Apple maps, instant replays with eight different camera angles, enhanced in-seat ordering platform including the capability to order alcoholic beverages directly to your seat in select lower bowl locations, as well as a personalization option allowing you to customize the app experience and tailor push notifications to events that you are interested in.
The Islanders website also has a new look and feel, and, in the next few weeks, the Islanders app will be part of the NHL app experience.
Finally, in the coming days we will introduce two new 50,000-watt stations in the Islanders Radio Network that will ensure Islanders regular season and playoff games are heard throughout the tri-state area. Promotion of the Islanders on both stations will extend far beyond the regularly broadcasted games, providing the team with the most extensive promotion it has received in franchise history. WRHU 88.7 FM will also continue to simulcast each game throughout the regular season and playoffs.
Though you have not yet renewed your season tickets, we hope you'll decide to join us for another great season of Islanders hockey at Barclays Center.
Sincerely,
Brett D. Yormark
