VarlyWahlstrom

Goaltender Semyon Varlamov and winger Oliver Wahlstrom joined the team for practice in Seattle on Monday at Climate Pledge Arena.

In addition to joining practice, Varlamov was activated from the team's COVID non-roster after being placed in protocols on Feb. 12.
It was a good sign to see Varlamov for his first practice back on the ice, but his timeline for a return is still up in the air as the veteran has missed the last three games.
"The first thing is that we need to see where he's at," Islanders Head Coach Barry Trotz said following practice. "With the COVID, everybody has been hit a little differently. It affects everybody a little differently. When he's ready ready then we'll put him in the mix. He will back up tomorrow for sure, but he will not start."
Varlamov owns a 3-9-1 record, a 2.57 GAA and a .916 SV%.
Wahlstrom missed the Islanders' most recent game - a 3-2 shootout loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday afternoon - with an upper-body injury, but joined the team for practice in Seattle. Through 41 games this season, the 21-year-old has produced 19 points (10G, 9A).
