With Mathew Barzal and Anthony Beauvillier currently on the Islanders' roster and Michael Dal Colle and Josh Ho-Sang in Bridgeport, the prospects are turning into pros. But behind them are 2016 first-round pick Kieffer Bellows, Russian goalie Ilya Sorokin and many more.

Canadian Hockey League (3)

David Quenneville
Height: 5'8   Weight: 187
Position: Defense
Hometown: Edmonton, AB
Draft: 2016 Seventh Round (200th)
2016-17 Team: Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL)

David Quenneville, 18, leads the Tigers blueliners with eight points (5G, 3A) in as many games with Medicine Hat of the Western Hockey League. The Edmonton, Alberta native is in his third season in the WHL and is looking to build off a career year last year where he had highs in goals (14), assists (41) and points (55). 

Quenneville saw action in one preseason game, skating against the Rangers on Sept. 27 at Madison Square Garden, recording three shots on goal, four penalty minutes and a hit in 16:28 of ice time. 

In April, Quenneville was named "Top Defenseman" at the U-18 World Junior Championships in Grand Forks, ND while playing on Team Canada's blueline. Quenneville led all tournament defenseman with five goals. 

Mitchell Vande Sompel
Height: 5'10    Weight: 190
Position: Defense
Hometown: London, Ontario
Draft: 2015 Third Round (82nd Overall)
2016-17 Team: Oshawa Generals (OHL)

Mitchell Vande Sompel, 19, has racked up eight points (4G, 4A) in eight games this season with the Oshawa Generals in the Ontario Hockey League. The London, Ontario native is entering his fourth season in the OHL and second as one of the Generals' alternate captains. 

During his time at Islanders training camp, Vande Sompel appeared in one game, Sept. 26 vs. PHI, and recorded a team-high seven shots on goal. He was returned to the Generals on Sept. 28, three games into Oshawa's season. 

On Oct. 12, Vande Sompel signed a three-year entry level contract with the Islanders. 

Parker Wotherspoon
Height: 6'0   Weight: 171
Position: Defense
Hometown: Surrey, BC
Draft: 2015 Fourth Round (112th)
2016-17 Team: Tri-City Americans (WHL)

Parker Wotherspoon, 19, is off to a red-hot start in Tri-City. Despite missing two games this season while attending Islanders training camp, Wotherspoon currently leads all Western Hockey League blueliners with 12 points (2G, 10A). The Surrey, BC native is entering his fourth season with the Tri-City Americans of the WHL and was named one of the team's alternate captains last month. 

Last week, Wotherspoon posted a five-point outing on Oct. 8 to help boost Tri-City over the Lethbridge Hurricanes 6-5 on his way to being named the game's No. 1 Star. Through seven games this season, Wotherspoon has tallied a point in all but one game. 

At training camp, Wotherspoon saw game action in New York's 3-0 shutout win over the Flyers on Sept. 28 where he assisted on Josh Ho-Sang's third period goal. Wotherspoon also recorded two blocked shots in the game. 

Wotherspoon made his professional debut last season with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers last year and became the youngest player to ever make his pro debut with Bridgeport.

College Hockey (5)

Kieffer Bellows
Height: 6'1   Weight: 201
Position: Forward
Hometown: Edina, MN
Draft: 2016 First Round (19th overall)
2016-17 Team: Boston University (Hockey East), Freshman

Kieffer Bellows, 18, recorded his first collegiate goal on Saturday when the No. 8 ranked Boston University Terriers played No. 6 Denver. Bellows also recorded an assist in BU's 6-1 win on Oct. 8 vs. Colgate. BU dropped both games this weekend at Denver and stands at 1-2-0 this season. Boston University is currently ranked No. 8 in the nation and Bellows is one of four BU freshman taken in the first round of the 2016 NHL Draft. 

Last season, Bellows led the U.S. National Under-18 team with 50 goals and won the bronze medal with Team USA at the U18 World Junior Championships in April. 

Jake Bischoff
Height: 6'0   Weight: 197
Position: Defense
Hometown: Grand Rapids, MN
Draft: 2012 Seventh Round (185th overall)
2016-17 Team: University of Minnesota (Big 10), Senior

Jake Bischoff, 22, is in his senior season at the University of Minnesota where he was named an alternate captain for the second straight year. Bischoff has posted three points (2G, 1A) through the Golden Gophers first two games. 

The Gophers are the No. 7 ranked team in the country and currently sit at 2-0-0. They are the highest ranked team in their conference. 

Taylor Cammarata
Height: 5'7   Weight: 161
Position: Forward
Hometown: Minneapolis, MN
Draft: 2013 Third Round (76th overall)
2016-17 Team: University of Minnesota (Big 10), Senior

Taylor Cammarata, 21, joins Bischoff as one of the seniors on the No. 7 ranked Gophers. Cammarata has recorded two assists in Minnesota's first two games. 

Through two games, the Gophers have outscored their opponents a whopping 12-3. Minnesota jumped up four spots this week from No. 12 and currently boast the best record (2-0-0) in the Big Ten.

Nick Pastujov
Height: 6'0   Weight: 203
Position: Forward
Draft: 2016 Seventh Round (193rd overall)
2016-17 Team: University of Michigan (Big 10), Freshman

Nick Pastujov, 18, is in his freshman year at the University of Michigan. Pastujov has played in all three of Michigan's games this season but has not registered a point, though he picked up an exhibition goal in a win over Windsor on Oct. 2. 

The Wolverines are 2-1-0 this season after a series split with Union and a win over Ferris State on Saturday. U of M is currently the 11th ranked team in the country. 

Doyle Somerby
Height: 6'5   Weight: 225
Position: Defense
Draft: 2012 Fifth Round (125th overall)
2016-17 Team: Boston University (Hockey East), Senior

Doyle Somerby, 22, has one point through three games with the No. 8 ranked Boston University Terriers. Somerby is coming off his best collegiate season where he recorded 13 points (5G, 8A), third best among Terrier blueliners. 

The Marblehead, MA native was named BU's team captain back in April.

Kontinental Hockey League (2)

Anatoli Golyshev
Height: 5'8   Weight: 179
Position: Forward
Draft: 2016 Fourth Round (95th overall)
2016-17 Team: Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg 

Anatoli Golyshev, 21, ranks second on the team in nine points (3G, 6A) through 18 games with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg of the Kontinental Hockey League. Golyshev has racked up 77 points (39g, 38a) during his four seasons in the KHL. 

Last season, the Perm, Russia native set career-highs in goals (25), assists (19) and points (44) on his way to being named to the 2016 KHL All-Star Team. 

Ilya Sorokin
Height: 6'2   Weight: 176
Position: Goaltender
Draft: 2014 Third Round (78th overall)
2016-17 Team: CSKA 

Ilya Sorokin, 21, continues to impress in the Kontinental Hockey League as he ranks in the top five in nearly every goaltending category. Sorokin, who won the "KHL Best Goaltender" award last season hasn't missed a beat this season. Through 15 games with CSKA, Sorokin boasts a 10-3-2 record with three shutouts. Sorokin ranks second among KHL goaltenders in GAA (1.25) and third in save percentage (.942). 

Sorokin has helped CSKA, 2015 Gagarin Cup runners-up, to a 16-4-2 record, good for second place in the KHL. 

European Leagues (3)

Petter Hansson
Height: 6'1   Weight: 187
Position: Defense
Draft: 2015 Seventh Round (202nd overall)
2016-17 Team: Linkoping (SHL)

Petter Hansson, 20, has recorded one assist in seven games with Linkoping of the Swedish Hockey League. Hansson, a Gislaved, Swe. native is in his third season in the SHL. 

Otto Koivula
Height: 6'3   Weight: 218
Position: Forward
Draft: 2016 Fourth Round (120th overall)
2016-17 Team: Ilves (Liiga, Finland)

Otto Koivula, 18, has scored seven points (4G, 3A) in 11 games with Ilves of Liiga Finnish League. This is Koivula's second season in the Liiga.

In 2015-16, Koivula ranked third on Ilves Under-20 team in points (58) and second in goals (26), in 49 games in the Finnish Junior League (SM-Liiga). He collected 12 points (5G, 7A) in seven post-season games, en route to winning the league championship. The Nokia, Finland native was named "Playoffs Best Player."

Linus Soderstrom
Height: 6'4   Weight: 198
Position: Goaltender
Draft: 2014 Fourth Round (95th overall)
2016-17 Team: HV71 (SHL)

Linus Soderstrom, 20, has appeared in two games and posted a 1-1-0 record this season for HV71 of the Swedish Hockey League. The Stockholm, Swe. native has a 3.06 GAA with a .872 save percentage. 

In January, Soderstrom represented Team Sweden at the 2016 U20 World Junior Championships in Finland where the he took home the "Top Goaltender" award. 

United States Hockey League (2)

Collin Adams
Height: 5'9   Weight: 172
Position: Forward
Hometown: Brighton, MI
Draft: 2016 Sixth Round (170th)
2016-17 Team: Muskegon Lumberjacks (USHL)

Collin Adams, 18, leads the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the United States Hockey League, with eight points (4G, 4A) through seven games. At the start of week, Adams led the entire USHL in points.   

Adams is in his second season with Muskegon. Last season, he ranked second on the team with 61 points (27G, 34A) to help him earn USHL All-Rookie honors.   

Adams is committed to play at the University of North Dakota next season. 

Andong Song
Height: 6'1   Weight: 181
Position: Defense
Hometown: Beijing, China
Draft: 2015 Sixth Round (172th)
2016-17 Team: Phillips Andover High School (USHS)

Andong Song, 19, has appeared in four games with the Madison Capitals of the USHL. This is Song's first season in the USHL.
