The New York Islanders season starts on Oct. 4, but the prospects are already on the ice.
The junior prospects started last week, while the Europeans are already in double-digits. The collegiate prospects get underway this month.

DOBSON NAMED TITAN CAPTAIN:

Noah Dobson was named the captain of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Friday, becoming the 30th captain in team history.
The Islanders 2018 first-round pick (12th overall) was issued the C after returning from Isles Training Camp. Dobson was an alternate captain for Acadie-Bathurst last season, helping lead the team to a QMJHL Title and a Memorial Cup.
Dobson has three points (1G, 2A) in two games since returning to junior, scoring his first goal of the season in a 10-1 rout of the Saint John Sea Dogs on Saturday. Dobson made his season debut in the Titan's 3-2 OT win over Charlottetown on Thursday.

GOLYSHEV… MORE LIKE GOAL-YSHEV:

Anatoly Golyshev is off to a scorching hot start to the KHL season, with 11 points (8G, 3A) in his first 12 games. The Islanders' 2016 fourth-round pick (95th overall) is one goal off the league lead and opened the season with six goals in six games.
Golyshev has helped Avtomobilist get off to a KHL-leading 10-2-0-0-0-0 record (W-OTW-SOW-SOL-OTL-L). The 23-year-old Russian recorded 31 points (18G, 13A) in 40 games last season.

DURANDEAU OFF TO HOT START:

Arnaud Durandeau has started the season with a four-game point streak, racking up eight points (4G, 4A) in his first four games since returning to the Halifax Mooseheads.
Durandeau's debut included a pair of goals, while the Isles 2017 sixth-round pick had five points (2G, 3A) this past weekend. Durandeau recorded a three-point night (1G, 2A), including the game-winner and first star honors, in a 4-2 win over the Moncton Wildcats.
The Mooseheads are 4-0-0 to start the season.

SOROKIN CONTINUES TO SHINE:

Ilya Sorokin is off to a 4-2-1 start to the season (W-L-SOP), boasting a 1.31 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage with one shutout.
The Islanders 2014 third-round pick (78th overall) started his season with a shutout on Sept. 2 and has allowed one of fewer goals in five of his eight appearances.

SKAREK OFF TO GOOD START IN FINLAND:

Jakub Skarek is rising to the challenge of his first season in Finland's top league. Skarek is 2-0-2 in his first four games since debuting in Liiga, with a 1.21 goals-against average, a .940 save percentage and one shutout.
