Here are this week's updates on Islanders prospects:

Turning aside all 59 shots faced on Thursday, the Islanders' 2021 third-round draft pick (93rd overall) shattered a Saginaw Spirit franchise record and earned league recognition in the process.

The shutout marks the third of the season for the 20-year-old netminder, who has a 23-15-1 record and a 3.19 GAA over the span of 42 games played in his fourth season with Saginaw. His 56 career wins rank fifth in club history.
The Spirit also qualified for the OHL playoffs on Sunday for the first time since 2019, where Saginaw advanced to the Western Conference Finals.

MAGGIO EARNS PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Matt Maggio's breakout season continues to attract league recognition.
The Islanders 2022 fifth-round pick (142nd overall) packed in 26 points (11G, 15A) in the short month of February, earning the title of Player of the Month in the Ontario Hockey League.

The Windsor Spitfires' captain proved to be a key player for his playoff-bound team, registering seven multi-point nights in 12 matchups in February, where the Spitfires went 9-2-1 to retain their second-place status in the Western Conference.
Topping the OHL standings with 98 points and 47 goals, Maggio already reached new heights this season, shattering career-highs in goals, assists (51), points and shorthanded goals (3).
The 20-year-old winger is also playing at exactly a point-per-game in his OHL career, with 204 points through 204 games played in four seasons - three with the Spitfires and one with the Ottawa 67's. He potted 92 career goals and recorded 112 assists over that span.

JEFFERIES POINT STREAK REACHES NINE GAMES

Alex Jefferies keeps finding ways to hit the scoresheet in his already-dominant season with Merrimack.
The Islanders' 2020 fourth-round pick (121st overall) lit the lamp in a 4-1 win over Vermont on Saturday, contributing the opening goal of Merrimack's fifth consecutive win.

The 21-year-old winger has 14 points (6G, 8A) over his last nine outings, beating his eight-game point streak set from Nov. 5 - Dec. 7 which saw 12 points (3G, 9A).
Jefferies has 41 points (14G, 27A) through 34 games played in his junior season.
