With the two points against Lulea, Salo also extended his point streak to three games, where he has compiled four points (1G, 3A) during that span.
Salo, who the Islanders selected in the second round (46th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft, now has 25 points (5G, 20A) through 36 games this season. The defenseman and Orebro are ranked sixth overall in the SHL with a record of 18-3-4-12 (3P-2P-1P-0P)

William Dufour continues to be an offensive force for the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
The Islanders' 2020 fifth rounder (152nd overall) scored his eighth goal of the season on Jan. 30 in Drummondville's 6-3 win over Sherbrooke. With the goal, Dufour extended his point streak to eight games where he had totaled 12 points (8G, 4A) during that stretch. Dufour's point streak ended at eight games after he was held without a point on Jan. 31 in Drummondville's 5-2 loss to Rouyn-Noranda.
Dufour and Drummondville are ranked 10th overall in the QMJHL with a record of 7-6-1.

MESTIS PENDING RETURN

The Mestis league, the second-highest tier of professional hockey in Finland, had to suspend play in January due to financial implications. The league announced on Jan. 25, that it hopes to have an answer by Feb. 3 as to when resumption of play will be approved.
"We want to find out all possible options so that we can play even without an audience," Olli Aro, Chief Operating Officer of Mestis, said via the league's site. "We said together that it would feel bad to decide to end the season if there is even a small chance to continue playing."
Henrik Tikkanen, who the Islanders 2020 seventh-round pick (214th overall), has played nine games this season with IPK where he has compiled a record of 6-1-2, a 2.55 GAA and a .901 SV%.
Prior to the pause that was issued on Dec. 23, 2020, Tikkanen and IPK were ranked first overall in the league with a record of 11-3-4.
