The New York Islanders announced the team's
2022-23 regular season schedule
on Wednesday.
The Islanders season begins on Oct. 13 against the Florida Panthers, part of a four-game homestead to start the year. The season concludes at home on April 12 against Montreal, but there's a lot more to it than that. NewYorkIslanders.com breaks at this season's upcoming schedule.

HOME OPENER:

The Islanders open the season against the Florida Panthers on Oct. 13. The last time the Islanders played a season/home opener vs Florida was the 2011-12 season. The Islanders hosted the Panthers in the season opener in 1994-95.

LONGEST ROAD TRIP:

After starting last season with a marathon 13-game road trip, the longest Islanders trip this season is five games. It'll begin in Boston on Dec. 13, head west to Arizona and Vegas for a back-to-back, visit the Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche and finish up against the Rangers.
The Islanders have a pair of four-game trips from Nov. 14-21 and Jan. 1-6 through the Pacific Northwest/Western Canada.

FIRST VISIT TO ASU:

While UBS Arena and Climate Pledge Arena were the two new arenas on the NHL circuit last season, the Islanders will visit a new barn in the desert when they play the Arizona Coyotes on Dec. 16.
The Coyotes are playing home games at Arizona State University while they look to build a new arena in Tempe. It'll be an intimate setting, reminiscent of the Calgary Flames brief tenure in the Stampede Corral from 1980-83.
