Stankoven brings Stanley Cup to former school, hometown hospital

The Stanley Cup did a few loops around Logan Stankoven's hometown on Sunday.

The Carolina Hurricanes forward took the trophy back to where it all started for him, Kamloops, British Columbia, this weekend.

His first stop, as shared by his amateur team the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League, was Royal Inland Hospital. Stankoven carried the trophy around showing it off to patients and hospital staff alike.

Later in the day, Stankoven brought it back to where it really, really all began, St. Ann's Academy in Kamloops, where he displayed the trophy and posed for pictures with students.

The school posted a cute video, including a throwback photo of Stankoven at the school, to their social media page.

The Cup then headed to Riverside Park's Rotary Bandshell for any and all others in the town that wished to gaze at its glory.

Stankoven is entering his fourth NHL season and third with the Hurricanes. He led Carolina with 11 goals in the postseason (his 16 points were fourth-most on the team) as they completed a dominant 16-3 record en route to the franchise's second Cup.
