Peyton Krebs, Winnipeg Ice
After missing the start of the season due to injury, Krebs has been exactly what Vegas had hoped for when signing the 2019 first-round pick (17th overall) to an entry-level contract in November. Through just 38 games, while serving as captain of the Ice for the second straight season, he sits third on his team in scoring with 60 points (12G, 48A). His 1.58 points-per-game ranks fourth out of all scorers throughout the Western Hockey League.
Kaedan Korczak, Kelowna Rockets
Joining Krebs with an impressive season in the WHL is Korczak. The defenseman was drafted in the second round (41st overall) of the 2019 draft by the Golden Knights. In his third full season with the Rockets, he owns 49 points (11G, 38A) from the blueline in 60 games. The Yorkton, Saskatchewan native signed his entry-level deal with the Golden Knights in December.
Connor Corcoran, Windsor Spitfires
The 2018 fifth round pick (154th overall), is starting to gather attention amidst his fourth season with the Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League. The defenseman has increased his productivity during each year spent in Windsor, collecting 54 points (19G, 35A) in 2019-20, the most among all defenseman on his team. Like the NHL, AHL and WHL, the OHL season currently sits at a pause and hopes to resume play in the future.
Lucas Elvenes, Chicago Wolves
Another Vegas fifth-round pick (127th overall in 2017), Elvenes has paced the Wolves in scoring throughout his first professional season in North America. Before the AHL season was officially put on hold, the native of Sweden had gathered 48 points (12G, 36A) in 59 games. The forward is expected to return as one of the key players for the team coming to Henderson/Las Vegas for the 2020-21 season.
Jack Dugan, Providence College
Since scoring the shootout-winner against Cornell at T-Mobile Arena and being named the MVP of the Fortress Invitational, Dugan continued his season at a historic pace with the Friars. The sophomore finished first in the NCAA in assists (42) and scoring (52) before the season came to its early conclusion. As a Hobey Baker candidate, Dugan earned himself a legitimate opportunity to get his first taste of professional hockey next season.
