The Vegas Golden Knights (34-11-2) extended their franchise-best win streak to 10 games with a 5-2 victory against the Colorado Avalanche (31-12-4) on Wednesday night at T-Mobile Arena.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
William Karlsson opened the scoring 10 seconds into the game as his backhand shot beat Devan Dubnyk to give Vegas a 1-0 lead. Devon Toews scored at the 13:43 mark to tie the game as the teams headed into the first intermission knotted at 1-1. Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone each found the back of the net in the middle frame, but a late goal from Ryan Graves brought the Avalanche to within one with 20 minutes to play. Stone set up Pacioretty for his second of the game 50 seconds into the third to give the Golden Knights a 4-2 edge. Jonathan Marchessault added an empty-net goal as Vegas earned the 5-2 win.
