Morning Skate Report: February 20, 2019

The Vegas Golden Knights kick off another four-game homestand as they face the Boston Bruins at 7 p.m. Wednesday at T-Mobile Arena. The game will air on AT&T SportsNet, FOX Sports Radio 98.9/1340 and ESPN Deportes 1460.
NOTES
Vegas opens a four-game stretch at home Wednesday against the Bruins. They'll host Boston, Winnipeg Jets (Feb. 22), Dallas Stars (Feb. 26) and Florida Panthers (Feb. 28).
This is the final meeting of the regular season between Boston and Vegas.
LAST TIME OUT
Vegas fell flat in their last game as they endured a 3-0 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Monday night at Pepsi Center. Malcolm Subban made 35 saves for Vegas, but he was outdueled by Semyon Varlamov who knocked aside all 40 shots that came his way.

SEASON SERIES
The Golden Knights and Bruins last met on Nov. 11 at TD Garden when Boston pocketed a 4-1 win. Jaroslav Halak stopped 37-of-38 shots to compliment David Pastrnak's two-point game as the Bruins notched their second win against the Golden Knights in franchise history. Cody Eakin netted the lone goal for Vegas.
OPPOSITION UPDATE
Boston has overtaken the Toronto Maple Leafs for second place in the Atlantic Division with a record of 35-17-8 and 78 points. The Bruins have won each of their last six games and are 8-0-2 in their last 10 contests. In their most recent game, Boston outlasted the San Jose Sharks in a 6-5 overtime victory Monday night at SAP Center.
Brad Marchand has carried the torch offensively as he leads the team with 70 points (23G, 47A). David Pastrnak is the team's leading goal scorer (31G) but is on injured reserve. In Pastrnak's absence, Jake DeBrusk has caught fire with four goals and five assists in the last four games. Defenseman Charlie McAvoy has scored the game-winning goal in each of Boston's last two victories.

KEYS TO THE GAME
Use Entire Offensive Zone: If the Golden Knights can be patient in the offensive zone and get Boston's defense out of position, the quality of their scoring chances will increase.
Danger From Deep: Boston's defenseman can score as well as any blueline in the NHL. When they defeated San Jose on Monday, three defensemen hit the back of the net including McAvoy's overtime-winner. Vegas will have to keep an eye on Boston's skilled blueliners.
