The Vegas Golden Knights (4-0-0) extended their season-opening win streak to four games for the first time in franchise history as they defeated the Arizona Coyotes, 5-2, on Wednesday night at T-Mobile Arena.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Shea Theodore opened the scoring with his first goal of the season at 5:18 of the first period to put Vegas ahead early. Just three minutes later, Alex Pietrangelo piled on with his first goal as a Golden Knights to double the lead to 2-0. Midway through the second period, Mark Stone deked around Darcy Kuemper to stuff home his second goal of the season and extend the lead to three. Nick Schmaltz cut the Vegas lead to 3-1 one minute later and the Golden Knights took their two-goal edge into the third period. Theodore potted his second of the night early in the third and Alex Tuch followed suit just 1:13 later as Vegas took control at 5-1. Phil Kessel got one back for the Coyotes, but the Golden Knights locked down the 5-2 victory.

TOP PERFORMERS
Alex Pietrangelo: With his kids taking in their first Golden Knights game since moving to Las Vegas, Pietrangelo posted a two-point performance (1G, 1A).
Shea Theodore: Theodore's pair of tallies sparked the Golden Knights offense from the blueline.
Alex Tuch: Tuch showed up offensively with three points (1G, 2A) to lead the VGK.
Mark Stone: Stone extended his point streak to four games to start the year with two points (1G, 1A).
Marc-Andre Fleury: Fleury stopped 21 shots for his second victory of the season.

STAT OF THE KNIGHT
With the game-winning goal, Mark Stone became the fourth player in NHL history to record a point on four consecutive game-winning goals to help a team start a season 4-0-0. He joins Jean Beliveau, Pat Verbeek and Radek Bonk as the only players to accomplish that feat.
