The Vegas Golden Knights (2-4-0) made their way back into the win column with a 3-1 victory against the Colorado Avalanche (2-4-0) on Tuesday night at Ball Arena.

HOW IT WENT DOWN
Chandler Stephenson opened the scoring with his third goal of the year two minutes into the contest. Reilly Smith tacked on a shorthanded goal midway through the frame and the Golden Knights took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. Cale Makar got the Avalanche on the board late in the second, but Keegan Kolesar's empty-net goal sealed the 3-1 win for Vegas.

Chandler Stephenson: Stephenson's goal extended his team-lead in scoring with two points (1G, 1A). He has six points on the season (3G, 3A).
Reilly Smith: Smith's first goal of the year was Vegas' first shorthanded goal of the season.
Robin Lehner: Lehner made 26 saves to secure his second win of the season.
