The Vegas Golden Knights (20-6-1) swept their two-game set against the San Jose Sharks (11-13-3) with a 5-4 win on Wednesday night at T-Mobile Arena.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Vegas opened the contest with a Shea Theodore one-timer to gain an early 1-0 lead. San Jose answered back with three goals in the second period to take a 3-1 advantage. Vegas started the third frame with a power-play goal from Cody Glass to cut the deficit to one. Nic Hague struck from near the blue line to even the game at 3-3. Two minutes later, a Ryan Reaves deflection pushed the Golden Knights to a 4-3 edge. Vegas continued its third period offensive pressure with an Alec Martinez powerplay goal that extended the lead to 5-3. The Sharks scored late to cut the lead to one, but Vegas held off till the final horn for the 5-4 victory.
