The Vegas Golden Knights suffered a 3-2 overtime defeat to the Colorado Avalanche in Game 2 of their Stanley Cup Playoffs Second Round series on Wednesday night at Ball Arena. Colorado leads the series, 2-0.

HOW IT WENT DOWN
For the second game in a row, the Avalanche scored early as Brandon Saad buried the game's first goal. Alec Martinez answered with a power-play strike to tie the game, but Tyson Jost's late goal gave Colorado a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes. Midway through the second, Reilly Smith lifted a backhand shot over the glove of Philipp Grubauer to knot the score at 2-2. Neither side broke through in the third period and the game went to overtime for the first time in the series. Mikko Rantanen scored a power-play goal 2:07 of the extra session to lift the Avalanche to the 3-2 win and 2-0 series lead.
