5 Reasons To Be Excited For This Week's Open House

The Golden Knights are hosting a unique 24-hour Open House at T-Mobile Arena this week.
It will start at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, Feb. 21 and run until 8:00 AM on Wednesday, Feb. 22.
Tickets are not required, and entrance into the arena will be free of charge.
Here are five other reasons to be excited for this first-of-its-kind event:

And considering our entrance into the NHL is already historic based on its importance to both the league and our city, we thought we might as well host a historic Open House, too.
"I think the biggest thing is, you look at our market," Golden Knights president Kerry Bubolz said. "It's Las Vegas. It's famous for being a 24-hour town. People say New York is the city that never sleeps. But it's really Las Vegas, if you think about it.
"It's important, when you think about the service industry, people that live in our community. Over 30 percent of the market works in the service industry. We wanted an event that could touch all three shifts (in this town)."

2. There Will Be Live Events

From a practical standpoint, our Open House serves a purpose: it allows our fans to get into our arena and get more acclimated with the area.
This is so when next season begins, our fans will already familiar with the logistics of coming to T-Mobile Arena and attending games.
But while this will be the purpose of many fans' visits this week, there will also be quite a bit of live entertainment. And with entrance into T-Mobile Arena being free of charge, this Open House is also meant to provide an easy entertainment option for our fans.
"If you're going to have an event for 24 hours, you have to program it with other events and activities," Bubolz said. "The building is open. We know that we have to create opportunities for people who want to learn more about the game itself. So we're bringing in several people from our hockey operations group to do Hockey 101 sessions, which we feel is a really important opportunity for us. And the rest of it is, it's seeing the building and how terrific of a facility this is."
These entertainment options will be headlined by CBS Radio's live broadcasting of several programs live and on-site.

3. 11 and 22-Game Ticket Plans Debut

Although we want our fans to come to the Open House to have fun, the day is also notable because of the new ticket options it will introduce.
"Right now, what's only been available to our marketplace has been full season tickets," Bubolz said. "We were at a point now where we feel like it was important to go ahead and launch the 11 and 22-game ticket plans."

4. Free Tickets!

We believe that our entire first season in the NHL is going to be historic.
However, even we acknowledge that our first home game in team history is going to be "extra special."
To reward fans who attend the Open House, there will be exclusive opportunities to win free tickets to our home opener. That as we play our first game in team history, fans can win the opportunity to be part of the memorable occasion free of charge.
We will be awarding a pair of tickets every hour, totaling 48 tickets to our home opener that will be up for grabs.
"If that can add to why someone would come down and participate in our event and look at others seats, then why not," Bubolz said. "We want to be different, we want to be inclusive and give people unique opportunities to participate."

5. Sharing In Hockey Spirit

One of the things our team is hopeful of is that hockey can draw our community together.
That as much as being a Golden Knights fan is about supporting the city or your favorite player, that our team can also help your form your own unique traditions.
Maybe this will end up being who you attend games with, or where you go to eat before games, the wearing of lucky jerseys or having something relatable that you can share with your entire family.
This season, with our team not playing any games, we understand it may be difficult being as excited about hockey this season as you will next season, when we begin playing.
It's our hope that by opening up T-Mobile Arena for 24 hours this week, that we can provide just enough of a taste of a Vegas hockey season for you to begin building your own unique traditions.
Which we hope, for both our franchise and our city, eventually becomes part of the larger tradition of the Golden Knights.
