The Nashville Predators have partnered with the Nashville Black Market, a black-owned and veteran-owned multi-faceted organization which supports and develops black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, leaders, and communities in Nashville and across the U.S., to spotlight vendors on the Bridgestone Arena main concourse during Black Music Heritage Night Presented by Nissan on Feb. 8.

To kickstart support of these businesses, the Nashville Predators and Nissan supported each vendor through a donation. Preds fans are encouraged to continue supportive efforts by visiting each vendor's platform below or in person at Nashville Black Market First Fridays.

Lost Hearts Co.

Business Owner: Malik Elliott

Background: At just 16, Malik Elliott set out to launch his clothing brand, “Lost Hearts,” driven by dreams and determination. The brand’s name came to him in a dream, sparking his vision to create an online store. However, the journey wasn’t easy. With only $800 in savings, no computer, and limited resources as a student at Saint Charles High School in Illinois, Malik had to get creative.

Using a school-provided Chromebook, he faced challenges as key websites like Shopify were blocked. Determined to succeed, Malik found workarounds using his phone and other tools. Within three weeks, he launched Lost Hearts online, investing his $800 in a heat press and hoodies. His friend Jack contributed a Cricut cutter, and together, they turned Jack’s basement into a mini factory, working tirelessly to produce their first batch of 25 hoodies, which sold out instantly.

Malik’s vision for Lost Hearts went beyond stylish designs—he wanted to inspire and support his community. Having moved to Memphis, he noticed a lack of community centers and wanted to create spaces to keep kids off the streets. Now, at 20, Lost Hearts has sold over 20,000 units, employs four people, and recently opened a retail store in Cool Springs. Malik credits his success to teamwork, faith, and perseverance.
