MIKE SMITH ON WHAT IT TAKES IN THE PLAYOFFS:

"I think guys are chomping at the bit."

JAMES NEAL ON HIS LINE WITH BENNETT & JANKOWSKI:

"We're going to be a big, physical line. We're going to be in the offensive zone a lot, cycling pucks. But I think for us, we've got to be at the net, but I think for us we've got to wear the defencemen down; wear the other team down. We're all big guys and we can all be a physical impact, and we can all put the puck in the net. I don't think we'll see the top pairing out there, so for us it's an opportunity to try and take advantage of a second or third pair. We'll be ready to go and we want to be a very effective line."

"Nothing's better than playoff hockey."

MARK GIORDANO ON OPPORTUNITY IN POST-SEASON:

"It's what we all play for, obviously. Being around and not being able to be part of it for a lot of years, you realize how quick (your career) can pass by. We have a good group in here, a really good team, and we have to bring that confidence into Game 1. … We don't take it for granted, for sure. I've seen how tough it is to get in. There were a bunch of years in a row where we didn't get in. Then the last four or five, we flip-flopped. It's not easy to get in. Half the league gets in, and then it's a battle once you get in the playoffs. We'd like to have some success, obviously and we feel like we have the team to do that."

"We have a good group in here, really good team"

BILL PETERS ON WATCHING PLAYOFF HOCKEY TONIGHT:

"I think guys are bored stiff. I think any hockey on TV they'll be glued into just to change it up a little bit. Feels like we haven't done any new video or watched any hockey in a long time, so I know the guys are excited that playoff hockey is upon us."

PETERS ON LAST FEW DAYS OF PRACTICE:

"We touched on everything. We've done as much as we could, obviously, and a lot of it is just turning on the light bulb again. We'll go full boat tomorrow, everyone will skate, and then the first question you guys will have when I come off is, 'Who's going to be the starter?' I'll answer that and away we go."

"Guys are ready, guys are excited."

PETERS ON GIO NOT HAVING A DEEP RUN...YET:

"Let's fix that. So if he doesn't have a long playoff run, he doesn't have a Stanley Cup. At this time of year, what's everyone trying to do? Win the Stanley Cup. (It's) hard. But we're excited about the opportunity, and I know he is, too. Thirty-five years old, I think. That's what he told me out there, anyway, I don't know if he's right. But he told me he's 35 and he wants to get it done as soon as possible. There's no better opportunity than the one we have right now."
