ASSOCIATE COACH KIRK MULLER ON THURSDAY'S WIN:

ON 'BUILDING' FOR SATURDAY:

"The important thing is building on our identity. If you look at our group, it's important that we play well without the puck and everyone has a responsibility to do that. We've had signs of it and when we're doing that as a group, and there have been good results.
"It's a hard way to play, you've got to be consistent, you've got to play 60-plus minutes in order to do that well, and that's what we're really harping with the guys. If you do that and you play the right way, you kill plays with our sticks and our bodies, the goals and all that will come. And that's the next step. We've got to keep them understanding that we've got to play the right way and they'll get good results."

"I think it's something to build momentum on"

ON THE POWERPLAY:

"It's building the chemistry among the two groups. … Really, it's about trying to be a balance of being unpredictable. We've got to get a shooting mentality and get in that (mindset) and then be creative with the puck. We've got guys that can make those plays down low. So, it's about knowing the options and executing. We've had some good looks. We've had some o-zone time this year and have had lots of shots thrown at the net - it's just finishing. That's confidence. The guys are working at it and I think we need reps in games to build that as well."

JOHNNY GAUDREAU ON TOPPING THE WINGS:

"They gave a pretty good push and we were kind of sitting back there (in the second period), but Marky played great. … It was a big win. Obviously, we wanted to get the road trip started on the right track. I thought we played well.

"Great way to start the road trip"

DILLON DUBE ON ROAD TRIP BONDING:

"It throws you off a little bit (playing different teams). It's weird. It's nice being here, nice being on the road. I know guys are enjoying it. Guys at the start of the year feel fresh, feel different, doesn't feel at all like last year. So, I think hopefully we can roll off that last game and build and really enjoy what it's supposed to feel like being with the guys on the road and enjoying our time together."

"It was a good team win...we have to build off that"

ON PLAYING ON THE PK:

"I think (I'm) still learning a lot, watching a lot of video on it, making sure I'm dialled in. It's such an important part of the game to be able to shut them down and be able to go with Mang (Andrew Mangiapane), I think we have that connection. To go with the same guys, same reps, you know where each other are, and it helps out a lot. If we can keep shutting it down, we've got to make sure we're good in our zone and on their entries, and chances will come. It's not our goal to get chances there on the PK, but so far, it's been working, but definitely trying to defend first."
