Flames prospect Rory Kerins has been invited to attend Hockey Canada's National Junior Team summer development camp, which runs from Jul. 28 to Aug. 4 at the Seven Chiefs Sportsplex on the Tsuut'ina Nation near Calgary.

The camp acts as the first step in preparing for the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship, which will return to Canada this winter with Edmonton and Red Deer co-hosting the event. Running from Dec. 26, 2021 to Jan. 5, 2022, games will be played at Rogers Place in Edmonton and at the Peavey Mart Centrium in Red Deer.

Kerins was selected in the sixth round (174th overall) in the 2020 NHL Draft. He spent his draft-eligible season with the Soo Greyhounds in the OHL, scoring 30 goals and 59 points in 64 games.

With the OHL unable to play in the 2020-21 season due to COVID restrictions, Kerins was able to make his professional debut with the Stockton Heat, playing four games in the AHL this past year.
