Sam Steel scored twice, while Matt Duchene finished the evening with four assists as the Dallas Stars dealt the Flames a 6-1 defeat Tuesday at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Morgan Frost's first-period goal stood up as the lone Calgary marker, as the Flames dropped the opener in their three-game homestand.

After Steel opened the scoring 8:44 into the first period, the Flames responded on a tally from Frost. The centreman headed to the front of the net, redirecting a Blake Coleman shot from one knee to even the score at a goal apiece.

Jamie Benn notched his 10th of the season before period one was through, then the Stars tacked on four more goals in period two.

Devin Cooley relieved starter Dustin Wolf after the fourth Dallas goal. Wolf made 13 saves on the night. He saved his best work for period three - making 13 saves including a sliding robbery of an Adam Erne chance with about eight minutes left on the clock.
