BROSSARD -- The Habs hit the ice at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard on Saturday for the sixth day of training camp.

As they did on Friday, a small group consisting of Phillip Danault, Ryan Poehling, Victor Mete, Cale Fleury, and Cayden Primeau skated in the morning before the main group practiced.

Brett Kulak and Xavier Ouellet did not take part in either session, while Paul Byron was back with the main group after missing Friday's practice.

The players took part in an intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, the first time they've done so during Phase 3. The group was split into the following teams:

Team Red earned a 2-0 win over Team White, with goals coming from Ben Chiarot and Dale Weise.

Here's what Nick Suzuki and Claude Julien had to say after Saturday's skate.

Suzuki on making the most of the first intrasquad scrimmage:

The scrimmage was good. We only had two lines, obviously, so you're getting out there a lot. It was high tempo. Everyone's really pushing and we really like to see that. As a line you want to be in those game situations, just getting used to each other and just reading and reacting with each other.

Julien on his thoughts on the first week of camp:

I've appreciated the focus and effort I've seen from the players. We've had some great practices this week. It's been four months where we haven't done anything, so for sure the guys are excited to be back playing. But the pace has been good all week. What I've really liked is how excited they are to be here. When the season was paused, our chances of making the playoffs were very thin, so to be able to take part in the postseason is something they're really excited about. At the end of the day, the players are excited to prove they can be in the playoffs for more than just one round, and that this is a good team.
