BROSSARD – The Canadiens held their first official practice of the 2026-27 season at the CN Sports Complex on Monday.

Twenty-three players took part in the session, including defenseman Kaiden Guhle, who wore a non-contact jersey. Forward Oliver Kapanen was the lone absentee after the team announced prior to practice that the 23-year-old is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Here are the lines and defense pairings featured in Brossard on Monday:

Head coach Martin St-Louis confirmed that Kapanen will not play in Tuesday’s season opener but was tight-lipped when asked about his starting goaltender.

The Habs fly to Toronto on Monday afternoon before opening their season against the Maple Leafs at 7:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
