MONTREAL - The preliminary round of the 2018 World Hockey Championship in Denmark finished on Tuesday, and two Habs players will be continuing the quest for gold when the tournament moves onto the quarterfinal round on Thursday.

Jacob de la Rose and Sweden finished with an undefeated record in the preliminaries, winning all seven games they played (one overtime win). The Canadiens centerman notched one goal and recorded a plus-1 differential in the opening round.
Sweden will face Latvia in the quarterfinals.
Charlie Lindgren and Team USA finished with 16 points in the standings, winning six games (two overtime wins) and losing one. Lindgren backed up Scott Darling when the Americans played South Korea, but did not see any action himself.
The United States will take on the Czech Republic on Thursday.
Team Canada also advances to the next round and will battle archrival Russia for the right to move on.
