BostonBruins.com- Charlie McAvoy and Team USA are moving on to the semifinals at the 2018 IIHF World Championship in Demark after a 3-2 win over David Krejci, David Pastrnak, and the Czech Republic on Thursday afternoon.

McAvoy was held off the scoresheet in the win, but played a game-high 23:37 of ice time, while landing two shots on goal. The 20-year-old leads all defensemen - along with Markus Nutivaara and Nikita Zaitsev - in the tournament with eight points (three goals, five assists) in four games.
The United States will play the winner of Sweden and Latvia in the semis on Saturday in Copenhagen.
Pastrnak notched an assist for the Czechs in the loss to finish the tournament with four goals (two game-winners) and two helpers in five games. Krejci had a goal and five assists in five games. Both players finished with a plus-6 rating.
