THIS WEEK'S NEWS, NOTES AND NUMBERS…
STAT OF THE WEEK: Brad Marchand's overtime goal versus the Detroit Red Wings on March 6 was the 11th of his career, surpassing Dit Clapper and Glen Murray for first place on the Bruins all-time overtime goal scoring list. He is tied for first in the NHL with four overtime goals this season. The goal also completed the team's fourth hat trick of the season (Patrice Bergeron on 1/6 and 1/18, David Krejci on 3/1, and Marchand on 3/6), totaling the Bruins' most regular-season hat tricks since the 2008-2009 season, when they also recorded four.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK:"He's a strong body. Down in the corners he works so hard to get pucks back. For a guy that has the scoring ability that he does, it's amazing to see him work so hard. It's funny watching him from this side now because when you played against him, you hated him for the way he plays, but when he's on your team, you love it because of the way he plays." -Nick Holden on Brad Marchand
