Devils-Savard 6-10

The New Jersey Devils acquired forward Marc Savard and the Florida Panthers' second-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft in exchange for forwards Graham Black and Paul Thompson on Friday.
Thompson, 27, played in three games with the Devils last season without getting a point. He had 35 points (13 goals) in 56 games for Albany of the American Hockey League.

Black, New Jersey's fifth-round pick (No. 135) in the 2012 NHL Draft, had seven goals and nine points in 50 games with Albany.
Savard, 38, has not played since the 2010-11 season due to concussion problems. He has one season remaining on a seven-year contract he signed with the Boston Bruins.
Savard has career totals of 207 goals, 499 assists, 706 points and 737 penalty minutes in 807 NHL games. In 25 Stanley Cup Playoff games, he has eight goals, 22 points and 22 penalty minutes.
