CBJ team update new look

The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated Yegor Chinakhov off the Injured/Non-Roster list and loaned the right wing to the Cleveland Monsters, the team’s American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Chinakhov, 22, has missed the first six games of the 2023-24 season with a back strain.  He has registered 11 goals and 16 assists for 27 points with 26 penalty minutes and 142 shots on goal in 92 career NHL games since being selected by the Blue Jackets in the first round, 21st overall at the 2020 NHL Draft.  The 6-1, 204-pound winger tallied 4-9-13 with 10 penalty minutes and 44 shots on goal in 30 contests with Columbus in 2022-23.

A native of Omsk, Russia, Chinakhov has added 4-5-9, 28 shots on goal and a cumulative +9 plus/minus rating in eight career AHL games with Cleveland since making his North American pro debut in 2021-22.  He finished the 2022-23 campaign with the Monsters, posting 3-5-8 and three power play goals in seven outings.

The Blue Jackets return to action on Thursday at the Montreal Canadiens.  Game time from Bell Centre is 7 p.m. ET.  Live coverage on Bally Sports Ohio, Bally Sports + and the Bally Sports app begins at 6:30 p.m. ET.  The game will also be heard on the Blue Jackets Radio Network, including Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan in Columbus, and online at BlueJackets.com.
