Artturi Lehkonen's second-period goal proved to be the game-winner as the Avalanche defeated the Dallas Stars 4-1 in preseason action at Ball Arena on Saturday. Gavin Brindley and Tristen Nielsen each scored their third goal of the preseason while Zakhar Bardakov tallied his first in an Avs uniform.

How It Happened

Brindley opened the scoring at 10:30 of the second period via a shot from the low slot set up by Ivan Ivan's backhand feed.

The Stars tied the game at 19:56 of the second period when goal by Antonio Stranges scored with a left-circle wrist shot.

Lehkonen gave the Avs a 2-1 lead at 3:42 of the third period with his second goal of the preseason via a backhand shot from the doorstep, finishing the rebound created by Nathan MacKinnon's left-circle shot.

The Avs doubled their lead when Bardakov scored at 7:28 of the third period via a backhand shot from the doorstep set up by Lehkonen's feed.

Tristen Nielsen gave the Avs a 4-1 lead when he scored via an empty-net goal at 18:23 of the final frame of regulation.
