The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has signed forward Alex Beaucage to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Beaucage, 19, is wrapping up his fourth season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in 2020-21. He started the campaign with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies and tallied 20 points (14g/6a) in 14 contests while serving as an alternate captain before getting traded to the Victoriaville Tigres on Jan. 25. He recorded eight points (3g/5a) in eight contests for Victoriaville to close out the regular season. The Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, native has 17 points (6g/11a) in 10 postseason contests and is currently tied for second on the team in points while ranking second in assists and third in goals as the Tigres prepare to take on the Val-d'Or Foreurs in the President Cup.

Selected by the Avalanche in the third round (78th overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft, Beaucage amassed 214 points (109g/105a) in 209 career QMJHL games with Rouyn-Noranda and Victoriaville. He has also averaged more than a point per game in the playoffs, totaling 34 points (12g/22a) in 33 career QMJHL postseason contests.
In his second year in the QMJHL in 2018-19, Beaucage registered 79 points (39g/40a) in 68 regular-season games and added 16 points (5g/11a) in 16 playoff contests to help Rouyn-Noranda to the President Cup as league champions. Beaucage also helped the Huskies earn the Memorial Cup championship that year, tallying two points (1g/1a) in five tournament contests.
Internationally, the 6-foot-1, 192-pound right wing suited up for Team Canada Black at the 2017 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge and tallied three points (2g/1a) in five games.
