My knuckles have turned to white, there's no turning back tonight

• Dallas and Tampa Bay meet for the first of two games during the 2021-22 season on Saturday night at Amalie Arena. The Stars are on the second night of a back-to-back set, having faced the Panthers on Friday at FLA Live Arena.
• Last season, the Stars earned a 2-5-1 record against the Lightning and posted a 1-3-0 record in Tampa.
• Forward Joe Pavelski led the Stars with 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in eight games vs. Tampa Bay in 2020-21. His eight assists led all Dallas players against the Lightning, while his three goals were tied for the team lead.
• On special teams, the Stars were 3-for-24 (12.5%) with the man advantage and 14-of-21 (66.7%) on the penalty kill.
• In the most recent game between the two clubs, the Stars defeated the Lighting, 5-2, on May 7, 2021 at Amalie Arena.
• Pavelski tied a career high with four points (two goals, two assists), logged a +5 plus/minus rating and potted the game-winning goal in the win on May 7. Forward Roope Hintz added three points (one goal, two assists) and forward Joel Kiviranta tied his career high with two points (one goal, one assist). Goaltender Anton Khudobin turned aside 25 of the 27 shots he faced.
• Last season, Hintz' eight points (three goals, five assists) in seven games against the Lightning were the second most on the club.
• Forward Tyler Seguin has points in three of his past four games (two goals, two assists) against Tampa Bay. Seguin, who has tallied points in two of his past three games (one goal, two assists) at Amalie Arena, has now registered 10 points (six goals, four assists) in his past 10 road games against the Lightning.
• Khudobin has won two of his past three (2-1-0) at Amalie Arena, sporting a 3.66 goals-against average and .890 save percentage. In 10 career games against Tampa Bay, he's registered a 4-6-0 record with a 2.91 GAA. and .894 SV%.
• Goaltender Jake Oettinger has appeared in five career games against the Lightning, posting a 1-2-1 record with a 2.78 GAA and .894 SV %.

Oh, my story's growing and growing

• Pavelski enters Saturday's matchup having earned points in seven of the last eight games (six goals, eight assists).
• The native of Plover, Wis., has posted 25 points (11 goals, 14 assists) over his past 17 games dating to Nov. 26. Over that span, he shares third in the NHL in points and fifth in goals.
• Pavelski co-leads the Stars in goals (15), leads the team in assists (20) and points (35) and shares first with a +10 rating in 2021-22.
• Meanwhile, his linemate Hintz enters Saturday's matchup having logged nine points (four goals, five assists) over his past seven games.
• Hintz is tied for first on Dallas with 15 goals and ranks third with 27 points this season.
• The Tampere, Finland native also ranks tied for sixth in the league and first on Dallas with four game-winning goals in 2021-22.
• Jason Robertson was held off the scoresheet on Friday night, snapping his eight-game point streak (five goals, seven assists). The streak marked the second-longest of his career (longest: nine games from April 13-27, 2021).
• The Arcadia, Calif., native notched a goal and an assist, including a game-winning tally on the power play, against the Kraken for his team-leading ninth multi-point game of the season.
• Robertson ranks second on the Stars with 19 assists and 32 points in 27 games this season.
• He ranks tied for sixth in the NHL and first on Dallas with four game-winning goals this season, while he also ranks second on the team with four power-play tallies and third with 13 total goals.

So cool and so poised

• Miro Heiskanen was held off the scoresheet against the Panthers, snapping his five-game point streak (one goal, four assists). The streak tied a career-long for the blueliner.
• Heiskanen also logged points in five-straight games from Nov. 13-21, 2019 (two goals, six assists).
• The native of Espoo, Finland ranks third on Dallas with 18 assists and fourth with 22 points this season, pacing club defensemen in both categories.
• Heiskanen logged a game-high 24:30 of ice time on Friday night and now ranks 17th in the NHL and paces the Stars with an average 24:26 time on ice per game.
