Stars forward prospect Nick Caamano is headed to the Ontario Hockey League Championship Series with the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Caamano picked up two goals and three assists in five games as Hamilton defeated Kingston, 4-1, in the Eastern Conference Championship Series.

Caamano, a fifth-round pick by the Stars in the 2016 NHL Draft, was acquired by Hamilton in late November to add some scoring to the lineup, and he hasn't disappointed. He tallied 36 points (13 goals, 23 assists) in 41 games for Hamilton following the trade and has provided more scoring punch in the playoffs, tallying 18 points (six goals, 12 assists) in 15 postseason games.
The 19-year-old forward ranks third on the Bulldogs in playoff scoring and is tied for 11th in the OHL. His three-game winning goals are tied for third in the league and his 54 shots on goal rank 10th. He is tied for sixth in plus/minus ranking at plus-11.
Hamilton, which will be making its first-ever appearance in the OHL Championship Series, is awaiting the winner of the Sault Ste. Marie-Kitchener series, which is tied 3-3 and is going to a seventh and deciding game Monday night.

North American Juniors

LW Jason Robertson (2nd round/2017) recorded two goals and one assist in two games for the Kingston Frontenacs as they ended up falling to Caamano and Hamilton in the OHL Eastern Conference Championship Series, 4-1. Robertson ended the playoffs with 18 points (10 goals, eight assists) in 16 games, ranking second on his team in goals and points. Robertson ranks seventh in the OHL in playoff goals and is tied for 11th in points.

D Ondrej Vala (Free agent/2016) tallied two assists last week as Everett won two of three games to take a 3-2 series lead over Tri-City in the Western Hockey League's Western Conference Championship Series. Vala has seventh points (one goal, six assists) in 15 playoff games.

Europe

D Miro Heiskanen (1st round/2017) is on Finland's final roster for the 2018 World Championship in Denmark. Dallas Stars defenseman Julius Honka is also on Finland's roster. The tournament gets underway later this week. Finland's first game is Saturday against South Korea.

LW Valeri Nichushkin (1st round/2013) could miss the World Championship for Russia due to injury. Nichushkin was added to Russia's preliminary roster last week but Russia's national team's coach, Ilya Vorobyov, told media that Nichushkin is doubtful for the tournament due to the injury that sidelined him for the final two games of the KHL's championship series.

D John Nyberg (6th round/2014) tallied 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) in 52 games with Frolunda of the Swedish Hockey League. After tallying two assists in six playoff games with Frolunda, Nyberg played five games with Sweden's national team. He has since joined the Texas Stars of the AHL.

LW Riley Tufte (1st round/2016) tallied 29 points (16 goals, 13 assists) in 42 games for Minnesota Duluth, which won the NCAA championship. Tufte, a sophomore, led the Bulldogs in goal scoring and shots on goal (131).

Signed an amateur tryout with the Texas Stars of the AHL after signing with Dallas.
C/LW Rhett Gardner (4th round/2016) tallied 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists) in 33 games with North Dakota. Gardner, a junior, won 58.6 percent of his faceoffs (459 of 783).

Karlstrom also played at the 2018 World Junior Championship, recording three assists in seven games as Sweden took home the silver medal.
