About the Stars

The Stars (38-30-8) lost their eighth straight game (0-6-2), falling 4-1 to Vancouver on Sunday at American Airlines Center. The Stars grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first period on a shorthanded goal by Mattias Janmark, but the Canucks scored on the power play 30 seconds later to tie and then took the lead for good with a power-play goal in the second.
"We don't deserve to win right now," said Stars defenseman John Klingberg. "We just don't execute enough. We don't have any confidence at all the way we are playing right now, on (the defensive) zone, neutral zone, and (offensive) zone. We didn't do anything right, and you can tell there is no confidence now."
The eight-game winless streak is the longest for the team since it moved to Dallas in 1993. The Stars were five points out of a playoff spot with six games remaining through Sunday's games.
Stars coach Ken Hitchcock said he was considering some lineup changes as the Stars try to snap their late-season slide.
"I think we have to look at everything and I think we have to look at the energy," Hitchcock said. "We have to look at everything, to be honest with you."
Tuesday concludes a three-game homestand for the Stars and is the next to last home game of the season.
Injuries: G Ben Bishop (knee), C Jason Spezza (back) and C Martin Hanzal (back) are out.

About the Flyers

The Flyers (38-25-13) lost 5-4 in overtime at Pittsburgh Sunday. Flyers forward Sean Couturier scored with 43 seconds left in regulation to tie the game 4-4, but Pittsburgh's Bryan Rust scored the game-winner at 2:25 of overtime.
"It's a big point," Couturier said. "Think we played a pretty good game overall. It's for sure disappointing not coming out of here with two points, but we can build on this and maybe be a little better in little areas."
The Flyers, who have points in five straight games (3-0-2), hold the first wild-card spot in the East.
Tuesday's game is the second of a three-game road trip for the Flyers.
Injuries: G Michal Neuvirth (lower body) is day to day. F Michael Raffl (upper body), G Brian Elliott (lower body), and D Johnny Oduya (upper body) are out.
