The loss was a big one for the Stars, who not only saw their four-game winning streak end, but they were also passed in the standings by Nashville. The Stars find themselves in the second wild card spot, one point behind Nashville and two points behind Minnesota for third in the Central. Had the Stars won, they would've gotten to within two points of St. Louis for second place in the division after the Blues lost to Ottawa.
Bridgestone Arena has become a house of horrors for Dallas, which has gone just 1-1-5 in its past seven games and 4-2-5 in its previous 11.
Dallas had its chances to take command of the game. They were a breakaway goal away from making it 2-0, but Michael Raffl came up empty on a glorious chance against Predators goalie Juuse Saros. On the ensuing rush, the Preds tied it up with a goal from Johansen.
Jake Oettinger suffered the loss in a 29-save effort, while Saros turned aside 22 of 23.
Don't miss the Stars as they return home to take on the New York Rangers on Saturday at 7 p.m. Get your tickets now!
