April is traditionally a really important month for hockey.
Typically, it’s a time when the contenders separate themselves from the rest of the pack, and the idea of securing a place in the playoffs starts to clarify for those healthy enough to get there. When the stakes get that high, it can also become a time when emotions reach their own peak levels, both on and off the ice.
That’s why we launched Vibe Check, a social program that started this spring, presented by Responsible Gambling Council (RGC). Vibe Check is an initiative with the goal of helping our fans check on their own emotions when they are in one of the most vulnerable positions of the season. During some important games for the remainder of the year, you’ll see a Vibe Check checkpoint where you can share how you are feeling for an opportunity at some prizes courtesy of RGC.
The Ottawa Senators' partnership with the Responsible Gambling Council reflects something every sports organization can aspire to: a genuine commitment to fan wellbeing that extends beyond the final buzzer. It's a recognition that caring for fans means caring about what happens off the ice, too.
When engagement is high and emotions are running strong, that's when a well-placed message can make a real difference!
