Senators acquire goaltender Jonas Johansson from Tampa Bay

The Ottawa Senators acquired goaltender Jonas Johansson from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for future considerations.

Johansson, 31, has played in 105 NHL games since making his NHL debut with the Buffalo Sabres during the 2019-20 season. After spending time with the Colorado Avalanche and Florida Panthers organizations, he joined the Lightning at the start of the 2023–24 season. In 25 games in 2025-26, he posted an 11-10-2 record with a 3.29 goals-against average and a .884 save percentage.

Born in Gavle, Sweden, Johansson was a third-round selection (61st overall) by Buffalo in the 2014 NHL Draft. He won a silver medal with his country at the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship.
