RANGERS NOTES

GARDEN ENERGY – The Rangers have won six-straight games at home to start the season, tied for the longest such streak this season and tied for the second-longest streak in franchise history. They are the first NYR team to have done so since the 1990-91 season.

STARTING IT UP – New York leads the league with seven wins this season when scoring the opening goal of a game. They are tied for second in the league with seven wins and 15 points this season, leading the league in both categories at home (6 wins, 12 points).

GETTING IT GOING EARLY – With Sean Durzi’s goal 1:18 into tonight’s contest, the Rangers have scored in the opening two minutes in three-consecutive home games for the second time in franchise history, following a three-game stretch from Mar. 15-22, 1989.

TALLY IT UP – The Blueshirts have scored at least five goals in four games this season, tied for the second-most games in the league. They have now scored four or more goals in all six games played at The Garden this season, the longest such streak in the league and the first time they have accomplished the feat since the 1991-92 season. In tonight’s game, 11 different Rangers skaters tallied at least one point.

PENALTY KILLERS – The Rangers went three-for-three on the penalty kill tonight and have gone 32-for-34 on the kill this season. They have registered a perfect kill in six-straight games and rank second in the league with a 94.1 penalty kill percentage this season.

Dylan Garand won his fourth game of the season and has earned a point in five of his six starts (4-1-1). His four wins are tied for sixth in the NHL and among all goaltenders to have started in at least five games, he ranks fifth with a .929 save percentage.

Adam Fox extended his home-game point streak to six-straight games (8A), tied for longest active streak in the league. Dating back to last season, he has tallied at least one point in 13-straight games at The Garden (4G-17A), the longest such streak of his career. With an assist on J.T. Miller’s power play goal this evening, he became the fourth Rangers defenseman to reach 10 assists in fewer than 12 games multiple times (11 GP, 2021-22).

Oliver Bjorkstrand tallied his second multi-goal game of the season and the 23rd of his career. He is one of two Rangers this season to have recorded multiple multi-goal games.

Alexis Lafrenière notched his fourth power play point of the season with an assist on Miller’s goal, extending his home point streak to five-straight games (6G-5A). He has tallied at least one point in seven of his last eight games (7G-6A) and leads the Blueshirts with 13 points.

Mika Zibanejad extended his point streak at home to six-straight games (2G-7A), tied for the longest active streak in the NHL. He sits two points away from tying Walt Tkaczuk for the sixth-most points in team history (678).
