Forward J.T. Miller agreed to terms on a new contract with the New York Rangers on Wednesday, avoiding an arbitration hearing that was scheduled for Aug. 2.
Terms were not released but CBC reported it to be a two-year, $5.25 million contract.

Miller, 23, had NHL career highs in games played (82), goals (22), assists (21), points (43), game-winning goals (five) and plus/minus (plus-10) last season. He had three assists in five Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Selected by the Rangers in the first round (No. 11) of the 2011 NHL Draft, Miller has 37 goals, 39 assists and 95 penalty minutes in 196 regular-season games. He has one goal and 12 assists in 28 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
