CANUCKS (20-18-3) at FLAMES (21-18-2)
10 p.m. ET; CBC, SN, NHL.TV

Canucks team scope

The Vancouver Canucks can win their seventh in a row and sweep back-to-back games on consecutive nights against the Calgary Flames after winning 4-2 at Rogers Arena on Friday. Ryan Miller made 42 saves and Markus Granlund had two goals and an assist. "At the end of the day it's about winning, but it's always great when you don't play good to win," said goaltender Jacob Markstrom, who will start. "That's always nice. The performance [Miller] had yesterday was great. It gets you fired up, for sure." The Canucks were outshot 46-13, marking the largest shot differential deficit in a Canucks victory in franchise history, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. "We have to play a little better structure and stay out of the box," Markstrom said. "We know they have a really good power play. We have to be disciplined and keep getting pucks to the net." Defenseman Chris Tanev will not play after leaving the game Friday with a back injury. Tanev left with seven minutes remaining in the first period after taking a Dougie Hamilton shot off the back of his right shoulder. Coach Willie Desjardins said post-game Tanev would be re-evaluated Saturday to "see where he's at," and that wouldn't travel with the team to Calgary.

Flames team scope

The Flames are looking for the same effort but a different result. "You get a couple of those games every year where you play well and the opposition's goalie is up to the task and you don't get anything for it," coach Glen Gulutzan said. "But in a game like that we needed to find a way to at least get a point." Goaltender Chad Johnson will start Saturday after Brian Elliott allowed four goals on 13 shots. "I thought there was that emotion last night," Johnson said. "Sometimes that's just how it goes. You've got to move on and trust that over a long period of time those results will get you wins more times than not." Calgary holds the first wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference, and leads Vancouver by one point in the Pacific Division. Each team has played 41 games. "We're getting points but when the team is right behind you, you know there's going to be a little bit more pressure," Johnson said. "It's a team we have history with here in Calgary. There's a lot of emotion and I think regardless of what game you play you want to beat every team, but it's a little bit more when it's a divisional opponent."
