Summer with Stanley Svechnikov

Visiting hours had a little extra shine to them in North Carolina this weekend.

Carolina Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov brought the Stanley Cup to North Carolina Children's Hospital, bringing smiles to many of the patients who gazed upon the Greatest Trophy in All of Sports.

Svechnikov had his day with the Cup Friday and posed for some pictures with fans shared to social media by the Keeper of the Cup, Hockey Hall of Fame VP Phil Pritchard. Some of the patients were already dressed in their Hurricanes gear.

After the hospital visit, Svechnikov and girlfriend Summer Jacobs were shown shacking out of the Cup, as per tradition.

The veteran forward - who racked up 11 points (six goals, five assists) in 19 postseason games where the Hurricanes went 16-3 en route to the title - also brought the Cup out to greet some fans in the area, pressing it over his head and giving it a kiss.
