Flyers congratulate Eagles on social media after Super Bowl victory

The Philadelphia Flyers took to social media to congratulate their friends across town on their Super Bowl championship.

On Monday, the day after the big game, the team posted a message from Philly icon Gritty to the Philadelphia Eagles after they won Super Bowl LIX.

The post included an edited photo of the Flyers mascot holding up a sign that says, “Eagles are Super Bowl champions” with a simple caption: “mood.”

The Eagles beat the two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, 40-22, at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday.

The Flyers have been loud supporters of the Eagles throughout their playoff run, wearing Eagles jerseys before their game Saturday and even hosting cornerback Cooper DeJean at a game after the team clinched the Super Bowl berth.

Gritty got in the fun earlier in the day, posting photos of himself from throughout the years with various Eagles players.

He even took a little shot at the Chiefs after the game quickly turned into a blowout.
